About WADA

WADA came into existence when two journalists Prabha Gupta and Gyaneshwar Dayal were doing some reports by going to the villages of India and simultaneously exploring how to help those people who were in a deplorable condition and devoid of education, employment and about their rights.

We were thinking how to extend a helping hand towards them, consequently, the idea came into existence to register a name called WADA, thus WADA (Welfare Association for Downtrodden) came into existence. We got it registered on 15 September 1998. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act,1860.

WADA is also registered with the Darpan Portal of the Government of India and then WADA became eligible to take some projects from the Government of India and thus we start helping the downtrodeen ones.

At present, there are fifteen members of WADA and fifty volunteers.

Our priorities and objectives are to carry out charitable, holistic and sustainable development work among the poor, marginalized, downtrodden, illiterate, vulnerable and exploited ones, irrespective of their caste, creed, color, sex or religion. Our main focus is on Women’s Welfare and Child Welfare development.

This is best done by establishing a redeemed, regenerated and progressive society which will be free from exploitation, injustice and disparities where the overall development and dignity of every person will be secured where people can live in peace, solidarity, co-operation and brotherhood and where the rights of each one will be protected.
